Home loan affordability

The latest REIA Home Loan Affordability Indicator has shown a decrease of 2.5% in Australia as of December 2015, meaning as an overall home loans are becoming more expensive.

Information in today from our National Research Department, shows that NSW remains the least affordable state with the lowest index reading of 25.4, a 8.2% decrease from December 2014. VIC is the 2nd least affordable state at 28.9 index points, though not as steep as a decrease compared to NSW at 3.6%.

At 36.3 index reading, QLD proves to have increased in affordability, by 3.1%.   Our National Research Department has released more research information which we will be looking at over the coming weeks.  Please contact our office to be added to our mailing list should you want to receive our quarterly research data.
