Courtesy of our National Research Manager, Dr Diaswati (Asti) Mardiasmo, we have some stats for #DataTuesday: we look at the average home loan comparison in the attached table which shows the average home loan in Australia has increased by 11.1% over the past 12 months to December 2015, whereas the average first home buyer loan has increased by 9.2%.
An increase in the average home loan is a reflection of mainly property prices (taking into account changes in the interest rate and bank policies) and also signifies how much debt needs to be served by a person/household.
