Budget styling tricks that will sell your home for a higher price

Styling your property for sale can most certainly get you a higher price, but not everyone has $3,000-$10,000 to spend to make that happen.

Here are easy and low cost ways to give your property that ‘professionally styled look’ at three different budget levels. If you’ve got $300, $500 or $1000 to spend we can give you tips.

Clear the clutter

This won’t cost you a thing! People will look inside the cupboards, we know they do. So hiding things in there isn’t the answer to a clutter problem. You’ll need to spend some time de-cluttering and almost halving the contents of your home. This can take a bit of work, but it will be worth it in the end. Clutter will not sell your home. It’s a massive turn-off and will block people from seeing the home’s full potential.

Commit to a colour scheme

Update small items like cushions, throws and decor items. If you choose modern and trendy items that don’t cost a fortune you’ll be sure to draw buyers in when they see the photography.

Add greenery

The easiest way to make your home feel welcoming is to add some greenery or fresh flowers. A simple vase on the kitchen bench or some greenery in the bathroom can make the space pop.

Do all the above first but then add…

A lick of paint

The best way to transform and freshen up a room is with paint. Neutral and light tones can make the space feel brighter and bigger. Anyone can paint too! You’ll be amazed at what you can achieve in a weekend.

New bed linen

An uncluttered bedroom with neutral and minimal bed linen is very inviting to potential buyers. You don’t need 9 cushions and excess throw rugs. Just something simple and classic. Make the room feel zen and calm.

Replace old furniture

Maybe your TV unit has seen better days, or you could do with some new kitchen stools. Simple furniture changes that don’t require you to spend thousands and thousands. Maybe you have a home office that could be made to look more sleek and modern.

Add rugs/art

Final touches can really transform the room. An oversized rug, a big piece of art or wall hanging can add that special something. They can add warmth and texture. Plus you will get to take them with you when you move on!
